Touching floral tributes have been laid to honour and remember Alice Birchall, who sadly died following a crash in Leeds.

The tragedy happened in Manston Lane, Leeds. Alice, 22, was an aspiring jewellery maker who had just landed her dream job after graduating from university. Her family said she was “caring and considerate” with her whole life ahead of her.

Alice, from Crossgates, was a ‘guardian’ to her younger sister Amy after both their parents died when they were at a young age. Amy Birchall, Alice’s sister, has asked people remember her by leaving floral tributes.

There are already a number of bouquets and pictures of Alice attached to a fence at the scene of the tragic incident. Amy said: “Alice’s family would love for more flowers to be placed by anyone and everyone, I just want Alice to be seen in the best way.”

Following Alice’s passing, the family published a touching statement, saying how she was loved by many and they were devastated about what happened.

They said: “Alice was the most caring and considerate young woman you would ever wish to meet. The passing of both her mum and dad at a young age meant that Alice matured quickly and became a guardian to her younger sister Amy. She protected Amy with her whole heart and cared for her so very well.

“Alice is loved by more than an army of people. Alice’s life was finally coming together, she had graduated from university with a history degree and she had just secured her dream job working in fine jewellery, which she was due to start in two weeks’ time.

“Alice was the happiest she had ever been with her whole future in front of her. This incident has left Amy devastated at the loss of her guardian but more importantly her best friend. The whole family is in shock and have no words that could truly understand the cruelty of the situation. Alice deserved so much better than what happened.”
