The Hairy Bikers were rather impressed when they paid a visit to a Kirkgate Market stall selling pig heads and ‘juicy pork anuses’.

For their latest BBC2 series, The Hairy Bikers Go North, duo Si King and Dave Myers were in West Yorkshire visiting all kinds of food and drink producers in Leeds, Skipton, Halifax and Harrogate amongst other places.

In tonight’s episode, viewers saw them visit Hesper Farm, Saffron Tree, Herbs Unlimited KC Caviar and Dama Cheese.

Although, the most eye-catching stop on their motorcycle journey was at Kirkgate Market which the culinary duo described as part of the ‘cultural identity’ of Leeds.

While at the market the pair said hello to a number of stallholders popping to a green grocery and S Myers Seafood.

It was their conversation at Malcolm Michaels Quality Butchers Ltd which got viewers talking the most on Twitter. Mostly because on the famous Leeds stall you can buy pig heads and ‘a******s’.

For some, the meats are considered a delicacy while it would appear others must not have the stomach for them.
