A producer on Emmerdale has let slip that the Meena storyline could carry on for months yet.
Meena Jutla’s murderous killing spree started months ago and we all thought it was building to a dramatic conclusion after a maize maze fire, a water park fiasco and more recently, a double hostage taking.
In the past few months, Emmerdale fans have seen Meena, played by Paige Sandhu, bump off many Emmerdale favourites and this week we’ve seen her holding sister Manpreet and Vinny Dingle, played by Bradley Johnson, captive.
Acting star Paige, 25, has spoken recently about Meena’s reign of terror coming to an end.
But now Emmerdale’s executive producer Jane Hudson has let slip that Meena’s reign of terror may continue for a while longer yet.
She said: “I think it’s fair to say that judgement day for Meena is coming. But whether she’ll get away with murder you’re going to have to wait and find out.

“There are still some more twists and turns to be had in this story. Some that you probably won’t see coming but I think we can all agree that Meena can pretty much do anything.
“But yes, Meena’s judgement day is coming. It won’t play out quite as you expect, there will be a lasting effect on a lot of the villagers but I think within the next few months, Meena will get what’s coming with her.”
To mark Emmerdale’s 50th birthday celebrations this October, bosses have revealed there will be a huge month of celebrations to mark the milestone occasion.
“It’s going to be chaotic over the next 12 months,” Jane added, “It’s our 50th birthday coming up at the end of the year and we’re going to be having a golden month of celebrations to mark our 50th. There’s going to be mindblowing stunts, there’s going to be moments and heartbreak. There’s going to be secrets and lies revealed.
“It really is going to be the gift that keeps on giving and the party that you don’t want to miss. Our 2022 is very much going to be building our stories for that 50th golden month of celebrations. It will be the biggest year we’ve ever had.”
