A man’s body has been found at a house in Beeston, Leeds.

A cordon is in place on Fairford Avenue and police and ambulance services remain on the scene after being called this afternoon (Thursday).

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “At 2.26 this afternoon officers were called to a concern for safety at Fairford Avenue, Beeston.

“A man’s body was found. A scene is in place whilst forensic examinations take place.”

The scene is happening near to the Aldi supermarket in the area.

West Yorkshire Police have been contacted for more information.

A spokesperson for the force said:

What we know

Police and ambulance services are currently on the scene in the Beeston area of Leeds.

Residents have been in touch to say that there is a large police presence and that Fairford Avenue has been closed off.

One resident said that they had seen police near to a house on the road.
