2 Leeds United players that could follow 19-year-old’s exit route between now and September 1st

Leeds United are still expected to make a handful of decision around outgoings before the end of the transfer window.

Despite the season getting underway this weekend, Leeds are not finished where incoming and outgoing business is concerned.

A handful of youngsters are going to be looking for senior football opportunities this season and might want to follow in the footsteps of midfielder Lewis Bate, who recently joined Oxford United for the season.

A key step for the teenager, Bate will be getting his first taste of regular minutes in the senior game, and there are others who will want to do similar.

Here, we look at two more players who we think could be set for a temporary exit between now and the end of the window…

Stuart McKinstry

Up first is Stuart McKinstry, with the Scottish youth international just outside of the first-team picture at the moment, having made his senior and Premier League debuts last season.

McKinstry is one of the better performing players currently in the under-23 side and while he hasn’t managed to push the seniors like others, he is still a player that deserves a shot at men’s football.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reported back in June that McKinstry was due to be handed a new contract before being sent out on loan to League Two.

Such a deal hasn’t yet materialised for him, but is still on the cards and we expect him to seal that move and get guaranteed playing time this season.

Max Dean

The fiery striker is someone most Leeds fans would absolutely love to get a crack at senior football, given what he does in youth football, as well as in EFL Trophy fixtures.

Max Dean’s goalscoring form speaks for itself, and he will be just as willing as us to get a taste of the men’s game in the next year.

Sources told LeedsAllOver last week that there was Scottish interest in the striker, while local League Two outfit Harrogate Town have also been linked.

There is good interest out there for the striker and he won’t have to rush into picking a move, knowing he can select the best possible destination.
