Brenden Aaronson’s reaction to being denied Leeds United debut winner by Premier League

  • by

Brenden Aaronson was cruelly denied a debut goal as Jesse Marsch’s side took the lead with 16 minutes to play, and Aaronson wheeled away in celebration, thinking he’d opened his account for his new club.

Patrick Bamford put a low ball in across the face of goal, and it appeared that summer signing Aaronson had got the all-important touch as the ball crossed the line. However, the goal was later awarded as an own-goal by the Premier League Goal Accreditation Panel, with the final touch coming off Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri. Bamford has been officially awarded with the assist.
