‘Keyboard warriors’ – Pundit blasts trolls as Leeds ace is mocked on Twitter, Radz steps in

We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist as each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United.

Paul Robinson has backed Andrea Radrizzani after the Leeds United owner slammed a fan for criticising Adam Forshaw at the weekend.

After Forshaw, 29, was confirmed as absent for the defeat to West Ham on Saturday, one supporter suggested the midfielder is stealing a living at Elland Road due to the number of injury issues he’s had.

Radrizzani fired back at that criticism, showing that he’s tired of the constant slating of Forshaw and urged fans to show support for all of the players who are at the club.

How long you want to go on ? I will always defend my players, when they wear @LUFC jersey are the best ! Nothing else to add. Hope now you can all give me break and support the lads today as always loudly and strongly. Come on LEEDS

Ex-Leeds goalkeeper Robinson is happy to see Radrizzani standing by his players and has taken aim at those who sit at their computers and do nothing but criticise players.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said: “Forshaw’s had no luck with his injuries, it’s been one after the other. There’ll be nobody more frustrated than him.

I just think it’s fantastic from Radrizzani to show support for his players. He spends time with these players and with Forshaw, believe me, footballers don’t want to be injured.

It’ll be a real blow for him so to have the support of the owners like that, it’s a good thing.

I don’t think it’s bad that he’s on social media interacting with fans but no matter what you say on social media, there are always going to be keyboard warriors that will criticise and will slate players and give abuse for no reason. Half of them have no knowledge of football and aren’t even Leeds fans.”

Forshaw has had a terrible time with injuries over the last two years.

He missed almost all of the Championship title-winning campaign and didn’t play at all last season.

This term, Forshaw has returned to fitness and played twice in the Carabao Cup for the Whites but he’s also had a couple of niggling injuries that have held him back.

Now isn’t a time to be criticising Forshaw, it’s a time to back him.

In other Leeds United news, this player will return to the starting line-up against Watford according to a BT Sport pundit.
