Leeds contract talks on backburner as star in no rush over move despite fresh twist – journalist

Raphinha is in no rush to push for a Leeds United exit to join either Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

According to Mirror journalist David Anderson (June 20, 15:21), the Brazilian continues to favour a move to Barcelona despite the sudden emergence in interest from the North London duo.

The two have the money to match Leeds’ £60million valuation of the 25-year-old, but he is not ready to jump ship just yet with contract talks understood to be on the backburner.

Lots of money involved

Leeds can afford to increase his valuation if they so please as there are number of clubs keen on signing Raphinha.

It’s clear that he wants to leave for European football and many teams across the continent would love to sign a player of his calibre.

Personally, he and his agent want to join Barcelona and be part of Xavi’s rebuild this summer as they look to regain La Liga and once again become a force in Europe.

However, their financial issues are well documented and Leeds are well aware that they do not have to sell him at a discount.

If not Barca, they can get a big transfer fee from either of the London clubs while Chelsea are also said to be interested in securing his services.

It’s fair to say that he’s played his last game in a Whites jersey so the least the club can expect is to be compensated heavily for his sale.

In other Leeds United news, Fabrizio Romano has shared if a ‘Sensational’ defensive midfielder has agreed terms for an Elland Road switch and become the club’s fourth summer signing.
