Leeds United are now deep in talks to finalise the signing of new goalkeeper Joel Robles, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper has reported on its website that the Spaniard is a direct replacement for Kiko Casilla, despite him not being at the club last season.
The former keeper mutually agreed to terminate his contract in the past week, and a replacement has now been sourced, with others only claiming that more help was needed for Illan Meslier.
Diario de Sevilla has reported today that the medical is booked for early next week, with most details set to be completed after the Wolves game.
The Spanish outlet has also shared that a one-year contract is on the table, with the option to extend it for a further year on top of that at Elland Road.
Victor Orta has moved quickly to replace Casilla, and make sure that the Whites are stocked in the goalkeeping department with experience to help Marcos Abad.
Leeds moving to not only get rid of Casilla but replace him too is the right step.
The former Real Madrid man wasn’t even at the club last season, but we have still made our move to add a fresh face to our goalkeeping ranks at Thorp Arch.
Robles could even be used more as a coach during training and sharing his experience with the likes of Meslier, who is still one of the brightest young talents around Europe.
With talks ongoing and the medical said to be planned, it means that it should happen as soon as possible, with this one not expected to get as much attention as others.
Jesse Marsch is making the right moves in the squad, and if a new left-back and a striker arrives in the next three weeks, it would surely be the perfect window in terms of incomings.
All eyes on this one over the next few days.
