Leeds United transfer rumours: Kalvin Phillips to Man Utd odds, Arsenal’s Noa Lang decision

Here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours.

Phillips to Man Utd odds slashed

Leeds fans will be understandably worried about the possibility of Kalvin Phillips leaving to join arch-rivals Manchester United.

The links emerged at the beginning of the week with the Whites reported to have set a GBP60m price tag on their prized asset.

This has led to the bookmakers slashing the odds on him to join the Red Devils with a January move valued at just 5/1 with Star Sports.

With high-profile transfers something of a rarity during the mid-season window, Phillips would be more likely to make the move across the Pennines in the summer.

A move at the end of this season has been valued at the considerably shorter price of 5/2.

Phillips tipped to stall on new deal

Following his performances for both club and country over the last couple of seasons, it is easy to see why Leeds are desperate to get Phillips tied down to a new deal.

It was reported that talks began earlier this month for a better contract for the 25-year-old but amid big-money transfer rumours, it is unclear whether he will extend his stay at Elland Road.

Speaking to Football Insider, former Scotland full-back Alan Hutton was not convinced he will be keen on a new deal with Leeds.

“It doesn’t surprise me they’re trying to tie him down,” he said. “There’ll be all sorts of teams sniffing around him. He’s taken his game to a new level. I don’t think Leeds are the same team when he’s not playing.

“They’ll be desperate to tie him down to a long-term deal. But will he sign one? I’m not so sure. There will be a lot of teams after him in the next year or so. We’ll have to see how that plays out, but he could definitely play at a very high level.”

Lang keen on Premier League switch

Before signing Dan James on Deadline Day, Leeds had reportedly expressed their interest in signing Club Brugge winger Noa Lang.

The Dutchman eventually stayed put and has since been linked with moves to both Arsenal and AC Milan among others.

According to Voetbal24, the 22-year-old is eager to make the move to North London with a chance to play in the Premier League expected to be one of the main reasons.

The Belgian champions reportedly set a GBP20m price tag on the winger during the summer but they may want more than that if the Gunners come sniffing following his strong start to the season.
