Antonio Conte has reportedly set a deadline for his Tottenham Hotspur hierarchy to sign Raphinha from Leeds United.
According to the Evening Standard, the Italian manager has Raphinha and Everton’s Richarlison as his priority targets.
He wants the two players signed before July 9 as that’s the date the North London club head out for their pre season tour.
Raphinha’s priority has been Barcelona even before he scored the goal that played a crucial role in keeping Leeds in the Premier League.
Had he not scored and Leeds lost the game, he would probably have been on his way to Spain, if not joined them already.
However, now the ball game has completely changed and Leeds will not be bullied by clubs to lower their valuation.
Barcelona’s financial situation is well documented and Spurs could look to take advantage of it as they can pay more than the Spanish giants.
After securing top four last season, even they can offer Raphinha Champions League football which is understood to be a priority for him.
If Barcelona cannot chalk up the funds, the Brazilian will have little say in determining his future.
Spurs would be an interesting prospect as they’re seriously looking to go the next level under Conte, but their lack of trophies and competitive appetite at the highest level could see Raphinha more inclined to Chelsea or Arsenal.
