It seems as if Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips is starting to attract a lot of unwanted attention from pundits and clubs alike.
Earlier this week, Manchester United were linked with a move for the 25-year-old who has had a meteoric rise over the last year [Daily Star].
Phillips is now a key member of Gareth Southgate’s side and was an integral part of the England team that reached the final of Euro 2020.
Since the season started, Phillips hasn’t performed that well for the Whites and has turned in an average WhoScored rating of 6.42, ranking him in ninth place in the Leeds squad.
Despite this, there have been pundits suggesting that other clubs should make moves for Phillips.
The latest pundit to have his say has been Don Hutchison speaking on ESPN earlier in the week.
He has been very impressed by the 25-year-old and described his passing range as “outrageous”; he also urged the likes of Liverpool and the Red Devils to make a move.
So the interest in Phillips from the wider football world is growing, and the Whites need to seal a new deal for their talisman to stop this talk from escalating.
The club are said to be close to agreeing on a new contract with the 25-year-old, and in our view, it is vital that they do sort this out quickly [Telegraph].
The interest in Phillips is growing as each week goes by, and a new contract would go a long way to quietening down the noise.
