‘Not happy is he?’ – Jeff Stelling reacts live to angry scenes at FT of Leeds win over Wolves

Jeff Stelling reacted live as the Leeds United and Wolves managers clashed a full time of the home side’s win at Elland Road on Saturday (6 August).

The Whites ran out 2-1 winners in their opening game, coming from behind to cancel out an early Daniel Podence opener with goals from Rodrigo and a Rayan alt-Nouri own goal after a wonderful passing move.

The visiting boss Bruno Lage was not happy after the final whistle, refusing Jesse Marsch’s handshake before the pair shouted at each other heading off the pitch.

Sky man Stelling reacted to the clash live as pictures were shown of the angry dispute on Sky Sports Soccer Saturday.

In a clip shown on the Twitter account of Football Daily, the host can be heard saying: “There’s a bit of things going on. Oh you can see Bruno Lage is not happy is he? Not a happy man at all. He stomps down the tunnel like a bull with a sore head.”

Things were clearly heated on the touchline after the game finished, although it isn’t clear what Lage was so upset about.

His side had a period of dominance after half time, with the scores level at 1-1, that looked to be pushing the result towards an away win.

But a great team move saw Tyler Adams find substitute Mateusz Klich, before the Pole threaded a lovely pass through for Patrick Bamford to provide a perfect cross that was turned into his own net by ait-Nouri.

It initially looked like debutant Brenden Aaronson had capped off a sparkling display with the winner before it was ruled an own goal.

There were some very weak displays within the team which will have to be addressed, but it has to be encouraging to see United battle back to win.

Marsch has a reputation for being nice and positive, but he wasn’t backing down on the sideline and that might be a positive in itself, as he demonstrated the fight personally that he wants from his side, and on this occasion he got it.
