It Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville is unlikely to be joining Rangers during the January transfer window.
That’s after a report from the Daily Record claimed that the 20-year-old is not on the Scottish champion’s list of potential targets this month.
Summerville has started to become a more regular feature around the first-team for Leeds this season, making eight senior appearances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
However, reports have still claimed that the winger is attracting interest from elsewhere, with Rangers apparently interested in a loan move for Summerville.
Now though, it appears that a move to take the 20-year-old north of the border on a temporary basis, is unlikely to happen this month.
According to this latest update, Summerville is in fact not on the list of loan targets put together by Rangers for the current market.
Blackburn Rovers have also been credited with an interest in the winger recently, although it remains to be seen whether the Championship promotion hopefuls will complete a deal with Leeds this month.
This may not be a bad outcome for Leeds in the circumstances.
Admittedly, with Summerville largely playing a bit part for Leeds so far this season, a loan move where he could develop and improve with more regular game time could be helpful for him.
However, with the injury problems that they are having to deal with at the minute, you get the feeling Leeds cannot afford to leave themselves short by allowing the likes of Summerville to leave at this moment in time.
As a result, it does seem as though the winger may have to stay where he is for the rest of the season, where he is at least, still getting some useful opportunities at top-flight level.
