Report: Spanish giants moving to sell forward previously linked with Leeds United

Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz is reportedly up for sale this month after barely featuring this season, having been linked with Leeds United in the past.

The January transfer window has presented Leeds with a number of players vying for a move away from their current clubs.

Plenty of names are going to be touted for a move to Elland Road, with it being quite clear that the Whites are in the market for recruitment to add to Bielsa’s ever-diminishing squad.

Calciomercato are reporting that Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz is on his way out of the club, with Carlo Ancelotti keen to move on the Spanish-born striker.

He has only managed 118 minutes this season in the league, registering one assist as his future looks in major doubt at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mariano is someone that has been previously linked with a move to Leeds – as per 90min – as Marcelo Bielsa reportedly requested the club swoop for the 28-year-old.

With Patrick Bamford picking up another setback prior to the FA Cup clash at the weekend, along with every other attacking injury, it could be in Leeds’ interests to pursue a move for Mariano.

At reportedly ?105,000-per-week, it’s a deal I can’t see being that viable for Leeds.

A loan move could be suitable for us, but I do have concerns about his lack of playing time, as much as he’d be more than good enough to improve our squad.

There will be so many names being linked to Leeds, and this is one that makes sense in the same way that Rodrigo did at the time we signed him.

He’s certainly going to be on the move in the not-too-distant future, given that Ancelotti has written him off completely.
