Stan Collymore predicts Leeds United will be held to a draw by Norwich City at Elland Road on Sunday.
It’s a huge fixture for the Whites, who remain in search of their first win under new manager Jesse Marsch.
Norwich are bottom of the Premier League table and will be just as desperate for three points as Leeds.
However, Collymore can see the two relegation-threatened teams sharing the spoils and drawing 1-1.
“A fight for survival,” said Collymore in the Sunday People [print edition, 13 March, page 55].
We feel like we’ve been saying this for every single one of Leeds’ games lately but we actually, properly mean it this time – Leeds United must win this match.
Norwich are bottom, in rotten form and are there for the taking.
Leeds are in woeful form, have won just two of their last 14 Premier League fixtures, been absolutely battered on multiple occasions and are struggling to score goals too.
However, Marsch’s bounce must kick in at some point and the return of Patrick Bamford is bound to have a massive positive effect on the team.
Bamford cannot be solely relied upon as Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper will also be massive boosts for the Whites once they’re back on the pitch and playing again.
But there have been too many regulars in this side who’ve let Marcelo Bielsa down and are now letting Marsch down too.
We simply must beat Norwich.
If we don’t, and considering the fact there are teams below us with games in hand, you’d have to start thinking we’re one of the favourites to suffer the drop.
