Update emerges on Victor Orta’s search for new Leeds United midfielder

Leeds United director of football Victor Orta is looking at four possible midfield transfer targets for the club.

That’s according to a report from The Daily Mirror, who say that Orta is hoping to bring one of those options to Elland Road this month.

With injuries to Kalvin Phillips, and a lack of cover for the England international, hampering Leeds badly this season, it seems clear the Whites need to add to their options in the centre of the park this month.

Although a long list of names have inevitably been linked to fill that role at Elland Road, the club have so far yet to add any players to their first-team since the market opened at the turn of the year.

Now however, it seems as though that is not for the want of trying, on the part of Orta, judging by this latest update.

It is claimed that the Leeds director is busy with his search for a new midfielder, and has three or four midfielders that he is currently looking at.

It is apparently hoped that Orta is hopeful he can bring at least one of those options in, before the window closes in three weeks time.

This should probably be seen as an encouraging update for those of a Leeds United persuasion.

The fact that Orta is hopeful of bringing at least one midfielder to Elland Road this month, means they ought to be getting the reinforcements they badly need in that position.

You also feel that the fact Orta is busy looking at a number of targets is promising, since it means there is a good deal of thought going into this, to ensure Leeds get the best piece of business done that they can.

However, given the need for new signings to settle in and get up to speed with the demands of Marcelo Bielsa, there may be some who are hopeful that Orta doesn’t take too long to make his decision here.
