Leeds United could reportedly have a go to sign Club Brugge forward Noa Lang if he is available this summer.
According to LeedsLive reporter Beren Cross, Victor Orta is an admirer of Lang and the move does make sense if Raphinha does end up leaving.
However, he believes that the reports he’s reading claim that the 23-year-old could be on his way to AC Milan.
He wrote in his Q&A, “Orta likes Lang, but the most recent reports I read were linking him with AC Milan. Never say never in a fluid market, but it looks like last summer may have been United’s window for the Dutchman. If Leeds get a sniff of availability for him I would be surprised if they didn’t have a go, especially if it’s after Raphinha has left.”
Leeds missed the trick by not signing the Dutch international last summer and Marcelo Bielsa would surely have been gutted.
Instead, the Whites turned to a familiar face in Manchester United and decided to sign Dan James for an inflated fee in the final days of the window.
That move did not work out for the Elland Road club and the regret would be apparent given the season Lang had for Brugge.
In all competitions, the 23-year-old bagged eight goals and provided 14 assists en route to Brugge’s impressive campaign.
He even gave the likes of Manchester City and PSG a run for their money in the Champions League.
With Raphinha all set to part ways with the club in the summer, roping in Lang as a replacement may be a terrific idea and one that most fans could get behind.
Belgian journalist Peter Vandenbempt has called him a “phenomenon” and he would be a fantastic fit at Elland Road.
