Leeds survived for a third season in the Premier League on the final day of the season, with Raphinha their hero after 11 goals, including one from the penalty spot in the win over Brentford that clinched survival.
Raphinha’s future has been under intense speculation since then.
Despite that, a report from the Yorkshire Evening Post has outlined that Leeds haven’t received an official from any interested club.
Arsenal are joining Champions League clubs in chasing the Brazilian’s signature, whilst Barcelona are long-term admirers.
“There are also currently no official bids in for Raphinha, despite a huge level of interest in the winger’s services among Champions League clubs and Arsenal.
“The Gunners are one of a number of English clubs with the Brazil star on their radar, but a move to Barcelona remains a possibility if their recent financial reshuffle allows them to stump up the necessary cash.”
Raphinha has scored 17 goals and registered 12 assists across two seasons in the Premier League, form that has helped the winger establish himself in the Brazil squad. He is expected to be a starter for his nation at the World Cup later in 2022.
The 25-year-old has two years remaining on his deal at Elland Road.
Quiz: 15 questions all about Raphinha’s time at Leeds United – Can you score 100%?
There’s been so much talk around Raphinha leaving Elland Road this summer, you’d have presumed there would have been a bid somewhere along the line, even if it was a lowball one.
However, it doesn’t appear that’s the case at this time.
You’d expect bids to come and you’d imagine there will be a good few of those turned down as Leeds hold out for peak value.
Raphinha is worth ?60m in today’s market, even with a couple of years left on his deal.
Leeds have to make sure that’s what they are bringing in for the winger if he is to move on this summer.
